Houston: We have a POOPY!!

Yes, you read that right. :)

Logan has decided he wants to use the potty now & today went poopy in his little potty!!! It's completely self-directed & I couldn't be more thrilled! He'll be 3 in September & will be potty trained, provided things continue going this well, long before his other brothers.

I'm hoping the excitement surrounding this will encourage Hayleah to have some interest in learning how to use the potty as well. She's not quite 18 mo. yet, so I'm not holding out much hope, but so far she's been very advanced at everything else, so you never know!

It's been a while

My m-i-l, Vickie, brought it to my attention that I haven't been on here & added anything new lately, so here I am trying to get on the ball with that. :)

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Vickie flew in on Friday & kept the kiddos for us on Saturday (alllll day!!) so Dave & I could have a day together. It was our anniversary on Monday, so we wanted to do something to celebrate it.

We went to IHOP for breakfast & pigged out on omelets & pancakes & stuff. That was pretty tasty. Afterwards, we managed to lay on our bellies for an hour (a real chore!) while being massaged by one of the several massage therapists working one of their last clinics at the school. It was 2 for 1 & there was a class graduating. Luckily, both Dave & I got women & they were both from that graduating class. Mine was WONDERFUL!!! I had a guy last time I was there & he killed me! This one, Tera, was really great.

After this we headed downtown to Ballys to get our tickets for the Price Is Right. It was okay. We had a lady sitting behind us with a bull horn for a mouth that just would not shut up. I wanted to stick my shoe in her mouth! She was actually arguing with the announcer about a price that was spun on the wheel. We were sitting in the back of the theater, mind you.

We wound up moving to the very back where there was no one sitting, which worked out nicely. We could actually see without sitting on the edge of our seats & the obnoxious lady wasn't yelling in our ears anymore.

After this we walked across the street to watch the fountain show at the Bellagio. Finally, after 5 years of living in Las Vegas, we got to watch it. It was shorter than I thought it would be, but really neat. There was a group of graduates making a lot of noise, having fun, which was a little refreshing. I never went on any graduation (or other) trips when I was younger. They looked like they were having a good time.

After the water show, we headed to The Melting Pot for our 5:30 dinner reservation. It was beyond amazing! I've heard of having an "experience" at a restaurant before, but never really knew the full meaning of that. It was the coolest place! We managed to get a great table, away from everyone, & the food was really great.

Overall it was a nice day. I wouldn't opt for the Price Is Right again, but other than that I wouldn't change anything.

Sunday we went out to Red Rock & went hiking on the Children's Discovery Trail, which was fun. We placed a letter box out there last year, but someone had removed it. Letter boxing is a great family activity & can be lots of fun. There's tons of info & clues on http://www.letterboxing.org/. This time we made our way over to the waterfall area, which was really cool. It rained quite a bit last week so we were able to see a little more than a trickle. We had a picnic afterwards & got to watch helicopters take off & land several times. They were doing some training up in the Spring Mountains & the picnic area we chose (just outside the park, off the highway) had a helipad right next to it. It scared the crap out of the little kids, but Jordan & Tyler loved it! :)

I'll add some pics in the next few days. I've finally figured out how to use my Photoshop program & have begun making some digital scrap booking pages, which is a lot of fun. I'll add those too.

GOAL!!

Here's a few pics of Jordan at last weekend's soccer game. He's so serious! He loves playing the goalie position. The team actually plays well together & they all love Coach Chris!

My stinkin' mother-in-law!!

Wow, I feel so much better just getting that out there. :)

She isn't really stinkin', I just wanted to get her attention so she knows she's thought about & loved. *SMOOCH*

First Haircut!

Hayleah is 16 months old now & just got her first haircut today. That probably seems a little late for one, considering how much hair she has now, and it probably is, but I wasn't sure I wanted it to be cut. Dave was the one who suggested it since she won't keep anything in her hair & it always seems like her bangs are in her face. She did great for Miss Holly, our favorite hairdresser. She sat still the whole time, fascinated by what was going on, and didn't make a peep. She hates it when I comb her hair but did great for someone else!Posted by Picasa
